Join Clubs New Zealand

Membership of Clubs New Zealand will provide your club with benefits, which you will find, are substantial for both your Club and your Members.

Membership Options

We have two categories of membership available;

Ordinary Membership

Becoming an Ordinary Member of Clubs New Zealand means your club is a full financial member and able to access all of the benefits and services we provide.

Ordinary Membership is available to all clubs who meet the following criteria;

  • Must be an Incorporated or Friendly Society or similar
  • Must not be a limited liability company or similar
  • May sell or supply liquor under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012
  • Must be able to offer reciprocal rights to other members
  • Must be a not for profit organisation
  • Must be operated for the benefit of its members and may have community involvement

Associate Membership

Associate Membership is available clubs and organisations who wish to access the benefits of Clubs New Zealand membership, but do not meet the criteria for Ordinary Membership.

Associate Membership is available to clubs/organisations who meet the following criteria;

  • Applicants for Associate Membership must be formed independently of any club that is an Ordinary Member of Clubs New Zealand or club that meets the criteria for Ordinary Membership.
  • Must not be an adjunct of a club that is an Ordinary Member of Clubs New Zealand or a club that meets the requirements of Ordinary Membership.

Associate Membership does not provide full financial membership of Clubs New Zealand and Membership Benefits are restricted to reflect this*.

How to Join

If you are interested in Joining Clubs New Zealand please get in touch with National Office on 0800 4 CLUBS or you can contact your local Area Board Member

  • You will need to complete a pdfMembership Application Form664.63 KB The information you provide on this form will help us to identify which category of membership will be best for you.

  • Your application for membership will need to be supported by a current financial member of Clubs New Zealand.  If you do not know a representative from a current member club, please give us a call and we will be able to point you in the right direction.

  • Provide a copy of your Clubs Constitution and Club Licence if applicable.

What does Membership Cost?

Currently Ordinary Members are required to pay a capitation fee of $4.00 plus GST per club member per year.  Clubs New Zealand's financial year is 1 January through to 31 December with membership subscriptions invoiced at the beginning of April.

Associate Membership is charged at a flat fee of $500 plus GST per annum.

*Associate Membership is restricted to the following;

  • Associate Members are not eligible to hold office and have no voting rights within Clubs New Zealand.
  • Associate Members and their members are not eligible to participate in Clubs New Zealand Tournaments.
  • Associate Members are not eligible to support applications for Membership.
